Queijadas de Sintra
Queijadas de Sintra, date back to the year of 1227, as a payment of forums in Portugal. It’s a conventual sweet made from sugar, egg yolk, butter and flour. There are three traditional brands: Sapa, the Piriquita and the "Casa do Preto" being Sapa the oldest with a factory in “Volta do Duche”. You must take some time to visit these little treasures when you visit UNESCO's world heritage site.

Travesseiros de Sintra (Travesseiros da Piriquita)
This conventual sweet has a recent origin, but the secret recipe has been passed down from generation to generation, made from puff pastry, fresh eggs, almonds and sugar. This speciality gained recognition for its fine ingredients and has became one of Sintra's ex-libris. A visit worth your while when choosing your wedding venue.

Dom Rodrigo
Dom Rodrigo is a traditional sweet of the most southern Portuguese region, the Algarve. It is named after a friar from a monastery in Lagos, who envisioned a perfect blend of yarns, made from egg, almond, cinnamon and sugar, and then individually wrapped in colourful paper. This southern delicacy is easily found throughout the Algarve all year round.
