Mediterranean Climate
Portugal has a Mediterranean climate, is one of the milder European countries: the annual average temperature in mainland Portugal varies from 13°C in the mountainous north to 18°C in the south. The summers are mild in the highlands of north and coastal region in the far north and center. Autumn and Winter in mainland Portugal are characterized by mild temperatures which allows to extend the characteristic time for holidays season.

Algarve Region
The Algarve is the prodigy region to spend the spring and summer, for its extensive coastline where some of the best beaches in the world have already received some awards worldwide. Normally, the months of spring and summer are sunny and temperatures are high during the dry months of July and August, and may occasionally pass 40°C in much of the country. The water temperature during the year goes around 15ºC to 20ºC degrees.
